Hey TMNT Fans!!!(Please read this...)
Heya all the TMNT fans out there!!! Laurakie here! I am a new Deviant, but still am overflowing with ideas, but i wanna start small. So I was kinda not able to put my finger on where to start. But then I got this idea: I want u guys to give suggestions on what sort of oneshots do u want, like: -u can give the name of character/s u want it to be on - you can give a situation -etc. Any sort of request is accepted. So finally in a nutshell, I will be taking requests and suggestions for one shots, and mini stories. I usually plan to write 2k12 version's, but when suggesting, please do mention which version turtles are on your head. Thanks a lot for giving me your time and reading this...please please comment below or send a private note to me on your ideas...it will be a big help! ~Laurakie~

Beta-Bitching #21 - Bare/Bear Necessity
Welcome to Beta-Bitching, because this post was too meaty for just a bare-bones Beta-Bitching Bite! Bear versus bare. Are you using the right one? My sources say no. *puts down the Magic 8-ball* Bear – n. large, furry animal, but you knew that, obviously. v. to withstand, put up with or suffer through, to support or carry, to produce, to push against, to conduct oneself, to show a resemblance, to move in a certain direction, to carry physically or emotionally. Leo had to bear the responsibility of leader. Raph just had to bear all the scrap Leo loaded him up with. What he couldn’t bear was Mikey’s constant singing of “Bear Down, Arizona.” “Donny, he called, “We come bearing gifts!” Past tense: bore or had borne (but never bored) They all bore the blame for coming home late. In the end, they had all borne the consequences. But Don bore witness to one of Raph’s sunnier moods. Also, a

Beta-Bitching Bites #2 - Wander-lost
I see way too many characters “wondering around” instead of wandering. Occasionally, I see them “wandering what to do.” Gah…
Wander vs Wonder: FIGHT!
wander – to move in an aimless or uncertain manner, to ramble from topic to topic, to deviate or stray.
Mikey wandered around in circles, unsure where to go.
Don’s thoughts often wandered from one project to the next while meditating.
Unlike either of them, Leo never wandered from his intended goal.
wonder – as a verb: to think or speculate curiously, to marvel at, to doubt
– as a noun: something miraculous or

Beta-Bitching Bite #1 - Do/Due Time
I have had half a Beta-Bitching post written up and unfinished for a few months now, and have not found the time nor motivation to get back to it. I seem to be unable to get anything done lately, so maybe I’ll start by trying to make smaller things.
Thus… Beta-Bitching Bites! Little-bitty grammar tidbits to brighten your day and up your grammar game. A homophone lesson snack with half the filler!
A grammar-cracker, if you will. Yeah, I’ll see myself out.
#1. Do vs Due
Do – There are 36 definitions for ‘do’ on Dictionary.com, including to perform, to execute, to put forth, to exert, and so on. G
12 Writing Tips
I have been asked many times for advice on writing. Realize that I have been writing since I was ten-years-old, which means I have thirty years of practice behind me. I also have a journalism degree and have taught English in the past. So, I’ve been exposed to a lot of different things over time that not necessarily everyone has or will be. I was taught in college that most people only read at a fifth-grade level. Therefore, it’s important to keep things simple when writing.
I’ve put together some common errors that writers (new and sometimes old) make. These are my personal pet-peeves. They are the things

Beta-Bitching #18 – Arose By Any Other Name…
Welcome to Beta-Bitching, where I’ve been putting off another post for way too long. Again. So let’s get on with it!
I know this was supposed to be request post time, but, as my motivation is a little catawampus (no, I didn’t know it was spelled catawampus either…), I’m indulging myself a little and going after one of my own writing pet peeves this time. Beggin’ your pardon.
This time, I’m going after raise and rise. I have seen the phrase “He rose his eyebrows” waaaay too much. And, while we’re at it, we’ll hi

Beta-Bitching #17 - The Prodigal Blogger Returns
Welcome back to Beta-Bitching, where the author has been off finding herself or some shit for several months.
Sorry for leaving you all hanging! Between all of the things I’ve taken on and a vacation where my husband and I ended up rescuing a puppy out of traffic, husband getting attached, and me having to make a second trip to the States to pick him up after he was all chipped and vaccinated… life’s been a little hectic, and I’ve been a bit burnt out. I had even picked this blog up several times, only to hem and haw over what topic I was going to do… I’

Beta-Bitching #15 – Then the Sh!t Hits the Than
Welcome to Beta-Bitching, where I’m coming out swinging the Grammar Hammer!
Excuses for this post being so late… I’ve had a lot on my plate lately, and have not been into much of anything lately… except the creative writing group on FB that’s been stealing my soul. ^^;
After one false start, a vacation in America, fighting off jetlag, and doing oh-so-fun things like locking myself out of the house, and a lot of can not even, I’ve decided to tackle then vs than this time. I have some rage in my heart about it. No, you cannot use them interchangeably!
